The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed former Katsina State governor, Aminu Bello Masari, as Chairman of its National Convention Central Coordination Committee, replacing Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma.
Naija News reports that the development was announced in a statement signed by the party’s National Secretary, Surajudeen Basiru, and shared on the APC’s official 𝕏 handle on Friday.
“In further consultation with the leadership and national stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Central Coordination Committee for the 2026 National Convention has been reconstituted,” the statement read.
Governor Uzodimma, who was earlier unveiled as chairman of the committee, has now been reassigned to serve as Treasurer following the reconstitution approved by the party’s leadership.
The restructuring also expanded the committee’s membership from 73 to 90, with the addition of key party stakeholders, including Senator Barry Mpigi and other senior party figures.
Under the new arrangement, former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim has been appointed Vice Chairman I, while Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, will serve as Vice Chairman II.
Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, was retained as Secretary of the convention committee.
“Sub-committees of the Central Coordination Committee will be constituted and announced in due course,” Basiru added.
The development comes just days after Uzodimma was initially named chairman of the 73-member planning committee, underscoring ongoing preparations for the party’s March 27–28 national convention, where new members of the National Working Committee (NWC) are expected to be elected.
